Oblivion
was released a while ago (it won the public voted
Gamingheaven "Game of the Year") and features
one of the best looking game worlds ever seen on
the PC. The level of detail available mixed with
the exceptional use of HDR lighting is really the
type of experience that redefines what you expect
from your games.

The
results are finally starting to make sense. The
performance in Oblivion was virtually identical
on both operating systems, although apparently the
game ran a bit better under Windows XP. On the other
hand, all in-game loads (fast travel, loading a
savegame) were slightly faster in Vista. This once
again proves that Vista uses some very efficient
memory management algorithms, something that will
most likely prove to be very important in the future
when games will require more and more memory space.
