the default ASIO routing
Having a default ASIO routing is a very good move and can make the drivers much easier to use. However i don't understand why you made the routing you made for the SB live platinum SB0060.
CdSPDIF, i2s, coaxial ??? what good is routing this to asio for someone? For this card I Use Epilog asio 4/5, 12/13 & 14/15 with prolog Aux2, AC97(mic or line in), MicIn2/LineIn2 .This will give you 6 ASIO inputs on the one soundcard! Is this not a better default setting which would allow new users to get recording quicker? ok cya. |

oops
I forgot to add 6 (4 for non-5.1 cards) inputs! this will be fixed in 3530 (well, I won't remove 'cdspdif' and 'coaxial', but will simply add lacking inputs instead) /Eugene |

You could use CDspdif to receive the digital input of another sblive card and get it recorded in ASIO. The same for the coaxial input. And if you have a live drive, the is2 is great for recording ouboard gear. So that's the reason you may want to connect that to ASIO sometimes...

Hmm, ok I understand about using the CDspdif to receive the digital input of another sblive and I guess the same for coax, but i don't understand how u would use i2s.
I have a live drive and I input using the Aux2 or MicIn2/LineIn2 on the live drive, how would I record ouboard gear with this i2s? s3n71nel |

Turn is2 volume full up in kx mixer. Connect the is2 r and l (prolog) to asio 0 and 1 (epilog - or other ASIO inputs) and there you go! Less noise than the line in from the card itself.

I'm talking about the line input into the livedrive (is2) and not the line input in the back of the soundcard.(ac97).
