problem with guitar rig 2

hi!
i have some problems using the guitar rig software.
i tried hooking my electric guitar to the computer via a 1/4" adapter and a standard cable,
to the mic in output. when i launched guitar rig i heard some "gain noises" while i was using the metal presets.
i have the asio-4-all driver, and i have no audible latency. i tried downloading the kx driver, but guitar rig 2 didn't recognized it.
pls help!
tnx.

i'm working with:
realtek ac97 onboard soundcard and p-4 2.4Mhz.
