ASIO Routing (again)
Hi all
I'm just starting to delve into the dark depths of ASIO and the KX drivers. I've read loads of posts on here (and that has got me started - which is great) ! Anyway, I am hoping to use 3 inputs from my SB Live card - SP/DIF in (Co-ax), CD SP/DIF in (which I have soldered a Phon socket onto to give me a second Co-ax in) and the analogue in. I took the standard routing setup (as per the default install), and added 6 connectors - from the three inputs on the prolog (ac97, Co-ax and CD) and conneted them to the last 6 ASIO connectors on the epliog. This worked great for the two digital ins, but not the analogue. I though I had seen something on this site about problems getting the analogue input onto the ASIO, but now I'm looking for it I can't find it !!. Also, I thought that the routing was horrendously complicated for what I want to do (I am not wanting to use any internal FX or Soundfonts or Softsynths). So being brave ( ) I cleared the whole DSP screen and started from scratch.I got the inputs working OK, but I lost the audio out (i.e. I could not hear the playback of anything I recorded in Cubase) Can someone (simply) explain what connections I need so that I can record my 3 inputs (analogue in, Co-Ax and CD SP-Dif) into ASIO and then hear the results (in stereo) when I playback in Cubase (using the analogue output). (and then.... if possible can I have the peak meter in there somewhere as well because I find it very useful for checking what inputs are working !) Hope that all makes sense - any help or advice offered will be greatly appreciated. Thanks PaulF |

use the default DSP settings, but change the following:
ac97 l/r (prolog) should be connected to in0/in1 (xrouting) AND asio10/11 (epilog) cdSPDIF l/r (prolog) conected to in2/in3 (xrouting) and asio 12/13 (epilog) coax l/r (prolog) connected to in4/5 (xrouting) and asio 14/15 (epilog) good luck! |

Testing in Sonar (2.2)
OK, so I connected CD SPDIF (Prolog) to ASIO 14+15 (epilog) and CoAx (Prolog) tp ASIO 12+13 (epilog)
Switch Sonar (2.2) over to ASIO and got audio from each input on the ASIO channels (although it did get a bit confused when I wanted to record from both at the same time - should the driver be OK for this ??) But I still needed to have the two channels (CD SPDIF and CoAx in) unmuted and the faders raised in the I/O mixer page - why is this ? Also, I tried removing the links in the DSP page from CD SPDIF (prolog) to In 2+3 (Routing) and CoAx In (prolog) to In 6+7 (routing) and then I found I had lost all audio input to Sonar (even though the ASIO links were still there) Am I still doing something wrong ? - surely if the prolog entries are linked directly to the ASIO entries, then the mixer (and the linsk to the 'routing' object) should be irrelevant ?? Also, I set Sonar to output audio on ASIO 0+1, and this appeared on my normal output from the card, but where is this set within the DSP page ? (I can't find the ASIO outputs anywhere) ?? Sorry to keep asking questions, but I'm very confused by all of this Thanks PaulF |
