I would like to run my M-Audio Delta 44 with ASIO in Sonar 2.2XL for audio and my SBLive 5.1 with ASIO in Sonar for MIDI.
After installing the Delta 44, Sonar sets up and operates in ASIO perfectly. Before putting the SBLive in my PC I installed the Kx .31 drivers. Then I installed the SBLive and Kx drivers loaded perfectly. However, Sonar only sees the Kx - SBLive in ASIO. It does not see the Delta 44 at all! When I switch to WDM in Sonar, I can see both the Delta 44 and SBLive. But, I also have an error "Settings are being reset to 48000 and 16 bit" because one or more cards won't support the default of 44100. Am I expecting too much or do I just need to configure differently? PC Hardware: Asus A7NX8 DLX; AMD 2500+ barton; 1G Dual DDR PC OP Sys: XP-SP1 Thanks!!

As far as I know you can only use one ASIO soundcard at a time... I may be wrong though...

Just one quick question, are you using two soundcards in one pc?
I was thinking about getting an audiophile 9624 card and ditching my sb live 5.1, but I see a lot of people having two cards on one pc. So, what are the advantages of having two cards on the same pc? |

Hi!
The main advantage is that you can increase the number of inputs, since SBLive has only one analog stereo input. Chaining one card´s digital output to second´s card digital input gives you 2 inputs more, accessible as extra tracks via ASIO, while the first card is running free via wdm (not ASIO!). There are many threads about chaining cards (and other solutions to get more in´s) inside this forum. Greetings! TravelRec.

, meant 1 stereo input for recording simultaneous - all inputs on Live! and Audigy are mixed in AC97 together to one stereo pair. Thanks kokoon for advice! TravelRec.

Will this setup also improve playback performance?
I'm using gigastudio 2.54 with Sonar 3.0 and when I put 4 or 5 midi channels playing simultaneous, the playback gets out of tempo. |
