kxin0 works, kxin1 not
Hello.
Today i discovered a bit weird problem. I have set up with mixer, it has record out and it's connetcted to line in in my sound blaster live 0220. seems it's working properly, both channels are working (i can see it on mx6). but when i'm trying to do something in asio, kxin1 is silent. it's same situation in traktor dj studio3 and djdecks. dunno why, in fl7 both channels are working. you can see that situation: http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/3352/98913804fy1.jpg but that's not all. when i play track in winamp it goes to the mixer and returns to linein. it's simple. so.. from winamp (directsound on) both kxins are working. http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/5271/30628044uq3.jpg and now the most weird thing: winamp playing, and master volume in mx6 muted (no sound at all) - kxin1 still 'records' (i wonder where from..) http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/4451/26538056vp0.jpg so problem isn't hardware related.. mx6 shows that both (left+right) channels are working but in asio.. dunno why only one. anyone knows how to solve this problem? thanks in advance.. |

Your first problem is the well known 'ASIO mapping issue'.
Search here; http://members.home.nl/nahutec/kxtut...kxcubasesx.htm Can't say much about your second problem. To vague and can't see your dsp setup. Most likely your card isn't fully supported; http://kb.kxproject.lugosoft.com/list.html In that case it's probably best to use Epilog with latest kX driver version instead of ProFx KXLT/ASIO. (won't fix the asio mapping issue tho) |

here's my kx dsp setup: http://img530.imageshack.us/img530/6918/cfgtd7.jpg (attention 1280x1024). well today i discovered one 'little thing'. i started FL, with kx in00-01. http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/4411/17009654uz1.jpg both in channels are working. but now - changing output: http://img358.imageshack.us/img358/9406/47117833vb6.jpg so no other output but 0/1 or 8/9 gives both (left/right) channels on in: http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/2516/70284793dp8.jpg Quote:
MAIN was muted by slider. so.. no sound. that silence got to mixer and returned to linein. on adc in dsp still no sound. dunno why. on kx1 sound appears. so without any 'hearable' sound.. just winamp, directsound on, main (in mx6) faded out it still records but NO REC buttons were ON. you can see it on screen, record meter is almost silent, but in traktor it's clipping. you can see same situation, but more clearly (without any R and pfr) there: http://img53.imageshack.us/img53/5779/57214065ew1.jpg so finally i discovered, when i mute send2 which is routed to analog center/lfe then record is rly muted (no sound indicated on that meter in tdjs3). second thing: when kxin00-01 is related to kx08-09 output in any asio host, then both channels are working. little edit: kx8-9/analog center lfe 'plays' linein also when NOTHING is routed, nothing in kx dsp.. sorry for my english.. Which output is connected to your mixer (feeding LineIN)?

(normaly that would be Epilog or Profx ASIO). So (if that is the case) it's no wunder that those ASIO recording inputs (kx00..kx01 etc.) do not work properly. |

Also keep in mind that;
If you do not load Epilog (or ProFx KXLT+ASIO) into the DSP, weird 'unexplainable' things (like you describe) can happen. [edit] Uuuh,..I hope you understand from the above that you must load and connect either Epilog or ProFx KXLT+ASIO for ASIO recording to work. Connecting to WINMMe recording is not the same as connecting to the 16 kX ASIO Recording Inputs (kx00, kx01...etc) Let us know if it works (or not). Most of this can be explained (as Lex stated) by the ASIO mapping issue, and kxlt not fully supporting your card model. I am guessing that you (like me) have an SB022x card model with the SigmaTel STAC9758 codec. To use kxlt with these cards you should enable (checked) the SB022x hack option under the kX Driver Compatibility settings (it should be disabled (unchecked) when using epilog). Also, when using ASIO with kXlt, the ProFx:ASIO plugin should be loaded (for that matter, use the ASIO connections of ProFx:ASIO/epilog instead of WinMM Recording for ASIO recording). That will fix some of the issues, but as Lex stated, it is best to stick with epilog with these cards. Also, ASIO 1/2 should not be used at all (the only signal you will get on these channels is whatever is playing to Center/LFE). I always use ASIO 4 as my first ASIO input (personally I do not even enable ASIO 0-3 in the host application (for input) in most cases). Last edited by Russ; Jul 17, 2007 at 02:59 PM. Reason: typo |

BTW: One more thing to note, is that if you are feeding your external mixer with all 3 outputs, and feeding that back into Line In, when you play audio using kX Wave 0/1 (i.e. from WinAmp or whatever), and use ASIO 0/1 as output in your host application, 2 different versions of the signal will be playing from FxBus (0/1) at the same time, and you have feedback loop (when monitoring in the host application, etc).

thanx Russ, it helped me.
I knew about sb22x hack option but didn't knew it might help me, everything before was working well.. but maybe reason is that i didn't used asio in. |
