hi there,
I just bought an Audigy 2, and I'm realizing that It cannot do 44.1 KHz using ASIO/ or Kx drivers ?? jesus,. that means I would have to convert my 44.1 samples to 48 khz, and then convert the final trax to 44.1 again to burn to cd ??? damn, will I lose a lot if using 32 bit internal at 48khz in CubaseSX, then use Apogee UV22HR to 16bits/44.1(if it's any possible) ? thanks a lot for any reply, I'm getting desperate here..........

Freedom is a feature.

Audigy2 doesn't support 44.1khz. It's limited to 48khz and more.

great, thanks for the reply
actually, I misexplained : I ordered it, but I didn't receive it yet thing is someone here on that forum says I could use the ASIO drivers built into CubaseSX to use 44.1. so I'll see, but I definitely wanna use 44.1

Ok...I have the same problem here. I've done alot of work on a few songs, all in 44100 (thinking this was the standard when I started....). Got a new comp. with an SBLive! and discovered what a piece of shit it was with an almost 2 second latency with cubase sx. Then a friend of mine said he had heard something about these kx drivers. I checked em out...AND THEY FUCKING KICK ASS!. Great work guys, really. The 2.33 milisecond MONITORED latency is amazing!. I just wanna say THANK YOU to you guys for creating these kick ass drivers for the sb cards..
Anyway, now I have all these songs in 44100, and I need to add some vox and maybe a bass line in a few, but theyre all screwed up when opened with a 48000 sample rate. I was hoping I could switch to the kx asio where you can change the sample rate back to 44100, but I cant seem to figure out how to get my mic in to work when set to Input 1 and 2 (which are the only inputs available with the kx asio). I can get it to work great if I use the kx drivers (not the kx asio)connect the first 2 prologs to the last 2 eplogs on the dsp config setup and then activate 15 and 16 vst input in cubase. But with the kx asio set, only 1 and 2 are available as inputs in cubase. So I set the first 2 prologs to 1 and 2 on the dsp config and activate 1 & 2 in cubase as the vst input...but i still cant record my signal in cubase....the tracks that are playing while trying to record are what gets heard. HELP! sorry for the long illiterate question but if someone could give me a suggestion on how to get my signal into cubase at 44100khz I would be in your debt FOREVER. |

nice to see, that i'm not the only one that suffers
does anyone know, if the 48khz sampling rate is limited by soft- or hardware? in second case, we have no choice than to resample everything...... |

The emu10kx chip can only handle signals at 48000hz. This is a hardware limitation. However, the Audigy cards can in some circumstances bypass this chip to use different rates. Unfortunately, the kxdrivers implementation of ASIO and other stuff means that the emu10kx is used. It is probably impossible to do ASIO on these cards without it, but I don't know enough to say for sure.
It may be possible to implement a resampler in the driver that would resample everything to 48000hz, but this would add latency (probably) and would, or course, mean output was not bit-perfect. |

you are right, audigy & live cards, based on 10k1 & 10k2 chips, are sample-locked
only audigy2 has a separate chip that handles 24/96 and other frequencies... we currently cannot support it because it is a proprietary chip of Creative Labs without any information available about it... now about different sampling rates ![]() 10k1/10k2 chips actually can handle different sampling rates (120...190000Hz), however they are resampled by the card [but the quality isn't very high]. the main problem is multitrack recording is sample-locked in hardware. so, there's a possibility to support different sampling rates, but the recording functionality will be unavailable if users are interested in such support, let me know (don't forget: without recording!)/Eugene |

YES!!!!!!!!!!!
...er...I mean..........pleeeeeaaaaase...........!!!........ . I think I'm not the only one who currently desperately misses and would therefore GREATLY appreciate this feature!!! This would save us from the need of converting to and from that damned 48k just because of that final mix in Nuendo (for example)...!!! Many thanx for your efforts! bb |

If you add this, maybe also an option to disable it? (or even better, an option to use b2b for asio?

Well, Seeing that asio out is (or atleast, was) always 48 khz, it would definatly be worth it to always route those streams through b2b... but I know this would probably not work when mixing asio/winmm...
(wich ofcource, again, can be checked) anyways, bottom line, when you only use asio, then using b2b on audigy's will get bit perfect asio... that kinda was my point :-) well... no, my point actually was to make an optuion to do this automatticly... :-) |
