Guitar Rig & Audition kx-based setup: ASIO conflict
Hi my friends,
I haven't been here for awhile, but now I'm back to the music, mostly for fun, and trying to setup something using Guitar Rig 3, Audition 3, and great kx drivers. My DSP looks like this: http://torontokundaliniyoga.com/kx.gif What I want to get is some live Rig sound (I use standalone Rig application) recorded in Audition when drum playback is on in a different track. This would give me a possibility to add track by track to complete a composition I'm playing with. The reality hit me as hard as a rock: first, I found ALL the sound recorded in the new track: guitar, and drums again. This drove me to ASIO (to change defaulf Audition input), and now I'm stuck where both Audition and Rig refuse to work simultaneously. If I start Rig first, Audition says ASIO device is already in use. Otherwise Rig is silent for Audition already reserved ASIO. May I ask you to suggest something? Thank you in advance. |

Is there some reason why you have to use the stand alone version of Guitar Rig?
Do both programs need to do the processing in real time (for your purposes)? |

Thanks for your reply, Russ.
Yes, I want to hear the "whole" sound when playing, this is the idea. I'm not that good with the guitar, and still polishing my own skills. I just want to know whether it's possible after all. |

I am not sure that answers my questions...
If you use the VST version of Guitar Rig within Audition you should be able to do what you want. i.e. You should be able to playback tracks that are already recorded, and record a new track at the same time. In most cases, you cannot use 2 standalone programs both using kX ASIO at the same time. |
