The impossible configuration?
Hi !
I just got the kx drivers, I LOVE THE 2.3 Latency, but i hate the "not for idiots" mixer interface. I have a rather wierd configuration here in my "studio" which seems impossible to set up to work with Cubase Sx and using the kx asio! In short, im trying to record an audio signal from AUX2 into Cubase (using asio drivers ofcourse) but I DONT WANT THE AUX2 SIGNAL to be output back from the soundcard!! ie: i dont want to hear what i play through Aux2!! Right now, i can record input from AUX2 (without having the signal come out) in basic audio recording software...but not in cubase!!! Pls help!! I tried almost everything, it seems to be IMPOSSIBLE to record from AUx2 without having feeback!! thanks Skimo |

I guess he means XROUTING. Remove the connections from PROLOG to XROUTING. Keep the connections from PROLOG AUX2 to the EPILOG so you can record using ASIO.

half Problem solved!! Disconnecting the Aux 2 between Prolog and Xrouting does stop the feedback, However i still cant record anything in Cubase!! In the Kx dsp, i connected Aux 2 between Prolog and Epilog(asio 15, asio 16). And in cuabse, i set my inputs to IN15 + IN16 (to get a stereo signal). Yet still no sound being recorded!!
And I think i dont understand the concept of MONITORING in cubase. Putting monitoring ON means: 1) Signal input is output again through output bus? 2) Just makes the "db bars" move up n down so u can tell if Cubase is getting a signal 3) 1 and 2 together 4) None of the above Im sorry im kinda new to Cubase im a cool edit person! (boooo) thanks for help Kimo |

Ok, have you selected KX ASIO in Cubase hardware setup? When you select the REC button in Cubase (on each channel) you should see the db bars going up and down as you play. Also, try connecting to other ASIO input, like the 2 first one's and see what you get. Oh, by the way, I guess that you should leave the volume up for the AUX 2 (even if it is disconnected...).

If you have a "live" based soundcard, then asio 15/16 is NOT IN 15/16...
you have to check all IN's to find the signal (search the forum a bit for more of this same problem) this is a hardware problem. |

Mata Hari, your suggestion is good for him but I guess that depends on which live you have... I have a CT4760 and asio 14-15 (KX starts at ASIO 0) is 15-16 (Cubase SX starts at ASIO 1). Only in Logic the numbers do not correspond to the actual ins...

I didn't know there were actually live's out there who did do it rite :-)
sorry for mixing that up a bit, but maybe it works for him (or actually, doesnt work for him, wich then solves the problem :-)) |
