kxASIO not working with newer standalone VSTi
Hello,
I used to run older standalone VSTis like Native Instruments B4 and Pro-53 with kxASIO without problem. Recently I noticed that newer standalones from various vendors including TruePianos, Pianoteq 3 (trial), Native Instruments Kontakt don't work with kxASIO. They work ok with ASIO4ALL, so I think there may be some incompatibility in kxASIO. There are different symptoms: when I select kxASIO as output Pianoteq and Kontakt is slow to response, hang without any sound. TruePianos show error message "cannot start audio". I noticed another strange thing: In the device list, beside normal kxASIO with card model etc. there are now listed 7 devices "kxASIO 1" ... "kxASIO 7". When I select one of them in any host that worked with kxASIO I got no more sound at all and no way to restore it. |

Re: kxASIO not working with newer standalone VSTi
This is just a guess, but I think it may be related to specific optimizations or CPU features (which often they do not even mention in the system requirements) that these programs use/require (that maybe are not compatible with kX ASIO). The reason I say this is because I noticed that every program (that I have tried) that has ASIO issues with newer versions of kX, will not run on my old beast (usually they just crash (it would be nice if the installer for these programs would check these things before installing)).
