Route ASIO between two cards

I have two cards (SB220 and SB360)...

Is there a small free application I can use to simply link the ASIO out from one to the ASIO in of the other and vice versa? I simply want to take 6 channels from the SB360 and send them straight to the 3 line output of the SB220 with the lowest possible latency and CPU power. May also want to take the SB220 line in and send it to the SB360.

Suggestions?

Re: Route ASIO between two cards

I wanted to do the same a while back - in short, I could not find a suitable application to do that, so I went about trying to write my own.

I use portaudio for all my audio development, it supports ASIO, but is limited to a single device per program, so, portaudio can't do it

I have, in the past, used BASS (BASSASIO) - http://www.un4seen.com/ - that supports multiple devices, however, the results were less than useful. not only does BASSASIO use a lot more CPU than I'd like, the audio was totally rubbish unless the latency on both cards was set somewhere in the order of 128ms (meaning a total of 256ms latency) - even then, the audio would skip and buzz if anything else dared to use the CPU. So, while in theory BASSASIO allows multiple devices in the one application, it's not usable (at lease not for kX drivers)

I ended up using spdif in/out ... I only needed one channel in each direction between the two cards anyway, so the cabling wasn't too horrific.

Wouldn't it be possible to link two cards via I2S wires? I have not found yet schematic how to do it, but theoretically it should work.

Re: Route ASIO between two cards

Sorry, i finally found out, its not so easy to link 2 Soundblasters via I2S:
Daisychaining cards using I2S (TravelRec?)

Quite some soldering involved.
my apologies
