Input Monitoring question

Obviously I'm noob, but I was reading the help file with the KX drivers>ASIORecording Guide. It states "It may be wise to disable software monitoring in your software to avoid hearing two signals". I have messed with all the input sliders in the KX Mixer attempting to stop the monitoring. I'm using cubase 5 and am easily able to stop the monitoring there, but what if I want to use real-time dynamics? I'm sure it's simple, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to shut it off for the audio card. I guess it would be the audio card monitoring. I was able too stop it before setting up my inputs in cubase, but now nothing is stopping it, except of course muting the main recording inputs. Also, I would need my cubase monitoring for db levels.

Any help is appreciated.

Re: Input Monitoring question

Disconnect the connections between prolog and xrouting (at xrouting) in the DSP. Also make sure that all of the sliders at the bottom of the AC97 page are muted.

Re: Input Monitoring question

Thank you Russ, I've read many of your threads that were very helpful. What I ended up doing though, was instead of disconnecting all of the inputs, I was just required to only disconnect in0 and in1. Although, while I did this I had completely lost all sound. I used a device reset to reacquire sound. Any reason this could have occured? It has happened twice. TY again for your comments, much appreciated.

Re: Input Monitoring question

Yeah, In0/In1 is for AC97, so I guess you are not currently using the other inputs. As for losing all sound, I do not know...
