The Final Word on Extigy and ASIO
Greetings,
I have spent hours searchign thru forums and visited many external websites for as much information on the Extigy as possible. Ok i would like some first hand experience if possible that is the only way to get factual replies. I am a mobile dj and have purchased the Extigy the main reason for doing this is cause i would like to have an external configuration for when i dj at parties instead of carrying around a whole computer. I use Native Instruments Dj Traktor Studio. It has full ASIO support and i have successfully been using it with my current LIVE configuration in my computer no problems at all with the KX Drivers ![]() NOW I KNOW that KX will prolly never support the Extigy due to its crippled chipset and that is sad, but we have to live with it. Although i did get recommended a few websites for thirdparty products that will give full ASIO support for USB soundcards which is a godsend although i would like to know if anyone has been using this configuration as yet ? Has anyone got the Extigy and use Native Instruments Traktor Dj Studio ? Has anyone tried these third party USB ASIO drivers and can say they successfully work great ? I personally think that the Extigy is a great product but limited in this repect, as i said i am using it primarily for mobile djing purposes. On a final note im sure there are many musicians and dj's on this forum, what relatively inexpensive set do you recommend for mobile djing i would like to use a software based or hardware based solution eg..... Dj Traktor Studio with a external mixer. thanx very much for your time. As7 |

Hi!
Yes, I´ve tested an ASIO-Driver with the Extigy. You can download a demoversion for testing and later, if you want, you can purchase it. The adress: www.usb-audio.com I can say, that the driver runs well, but there are some limitations for the Extigy and maybe this will be changed in future (or not). You are right: the Extigy is a very fine thing with a great sound, but the current drivers which comes with it, are finally unusual. That´s the reason of why I now use an Audigy card. Maybe some time there will be a light... Best wishes! TravelRec. |
