Clicks and Pops with Cubase playback
i seem to be encountering a problem which a few other users have had, but none of the proposed solutions seems to work.
What happens is, when i record a single track in cubase, using kx asio, it monitors out fine (using the mic input on my audigy drive) from the monitor in cubase (i cut the output of the mic in in the DSP so it doesn't get mirrored, i'm only hearing cubase's monitor, so i can hear all added effects etc.), but when i playback anything in cubase, I constantly hear clicks and pops in the playback. When i do an export audio mixdown, and playback the wav file, it sounds fine, but from within cubase it's impossible to work with, when i'm trying to actually record something. i've also use cubase linked with reason 2.5, with reason in rewire slave mode, and reason's samples start skipping and stuttering when playing back too. with reason alone, it works perfectly, recording from my midi keyboard, and playing back through my monitor. no audio artifacts at all. i am using an audigy 1 platinum eX. I have already tried swapping the PCI slot of the card, made sure it's not sharing any IRQs with anything, checked to make sure all creative anything is removed from my system, re-installed kx drivers, still this problem. increasing the latency doesn't seem to do anything at all. ----Hardware / Software configuration--------------- Driver Name:kX Audio Driver (Debug) Driver Date: May 28 2003 00:28:30 Driver Version: 5.10.00.3533 - debug DB Name:LiveBay1 SB0090 10k2 [ece0] PCI Information: Device: 41102 Subsys: 511102 ChipRev: 3 Card is '10k2' Card has MPU device Card model is '5.1' Card HAS AC97 codec Codec name: TriTech TR A5/CT1297 TAT 3D Extension: No 3D Stereo Enhancement Codec is 1.0 compliant Capabilities[0] : DAC resolutions : -16-bit- ADC resolutions : -16-bit- Ext Capabilities [0]: Port: ece0 Irq: 9 Playback buffer: 20a0 Record buffer: 4000 Number of AC3 buffers: 4 Tank memory: 256 kb GSIF buffer: 512 samples OS version: [2 5 1 ; 2 5 1 ; 156 148] ---------------------------------------------------- Cubase SX 1.02 using a dell deimension 4550, P4 2.4 ghz, AGP geforce3 ti200 i have disabled the onboard audio in the bios one odd thing is that windows says the IRQ of the card is 22, but Kx seems to say it's 9. if kX is right, and it is nine, then it would be interfering with something shown in device manager as "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System" which device manager claims is using the ISA bus on IRQ 9. no other PCI expansion cards. i had another firewire card, but i removed that thinking it could be interfering, but no change. I don't need it anymore anyway, since the audigy has firewire. |

Hmm.. Have u tried switching the ASIO latency to like 20? Cause if u use 5- it may click (in most cases it does).
