Timing problem in Cubase SX
Hi,
I'm having a problem in Cubase SX: When I import a MIDI song and change one of its tracks to use a VST insturment instead of (for example) Microsoft SW Synth, the timing goes funny. The VST instrument seems to get a bit ahead of the "ordinary" MIDI instruments. The difference gets bigger and bigger when playing the song for longer time. Almost like the other instruments would be @ 44.1 KHz and the VST instrument @ 48 KHz, I don't even know if it's possible :-( All sampling rates should be however set at 48 KHz and bit depth to 16. I use kx ASIO driver (in Cubase's VST setup). Any ideas? |

That's probably because Microsoft SW Synth has lots of latency. It's not a VSTi or DXi, so you shouldn't expect good latency out of it... Use KX Synth 1 and 2 instead... Or you can also time shift that track back until all tracks sound together.

Thanks for the answer, you were right about the SW synth's latency. It works now like a charm when using Kx's synths with external Soundfonts.
