Software FX Monitoring in Samplitude +

Hi... My System is: Athlon 2000+ DFI AD73Pro 256 DDRPC266 SB Live Value SB Live 5.1. WinXP. I'm using Samplitude 7, but i cannot make the software fx monitoring option to work on a 24 track 6 bus project with dx and vst realtime effects... i have an ASIO buffer lost issue (droputs). I imagine that even when i have a powerful system, it is still too much to ask. I just wanted to check with everybody else that this is the thing.

Even when i've been using this drivers for a long time, i have a really hard time trying to figure out some things connected with ASIO recording... i know i'm a bit slow, guys... don't get mad at me...

I know that im asking a bit too much from my gear, but... this is the scenario... i have a full blown project under Samplitude 7 (24-36 tracks 4-8 buses), and now it is time for the singer to step in and record the final vocal tracks... i monitor the recording from REAR (main out goes to my monitors in the control room), and the singer listens trough FRONT with headphones while i record ASIO from line in. The final mix will go with certain DirectX and VST efx that i'm very fond of and i always use, but i cannot use them in realtime recording because of the overload... so i workaround using SBLive efx (comp, eq and reverb) just for the recording session, so the singer does not feel so "dry". Every time i have to patch this efx in DSP window, its a pain in the a**... my question is... which is the easiest way to do this using fxbus (i really don't understand them)?????

I've been using kx drivers since version 3527, and even when they have some drawbacks, they're AWESOME. I still have some important issues... some soundfonts don't sound the way they're supposed to. I have a dualboot system, with WinXP and Win98SE. I have KX3534 under WinXP and APSLive! + LiveWare under Win98SE, and i still digitalize some soundfonts using APSLive, because of buggy soundfont implementation, i think. Some soundfont make weird noises, i think because erroneus modulator implementation... is this correct??
I've noticed the synth1-synth2 option to load SF in kx... will this option allow me to digitalize from two different SF per card at a time?

Sorry for the length I hope somebody feels like making a knowledge donation

kisses to everybody

GO KX!!
