Hello,
My computer is AMD abit NF7-S AMD Barton 2500+ overclocked to 3200+ Soundcard Audigy 2 I use reaktor and kontakt from NI as softsynt with the asio drivers. When I start reaktor I have almost always pops in the sound. Then I change latency in the asio from 2.66 to 10 and back to 2.66 and all pops and clicks are gone. What happens when I change from 2.66 tot 10 and back to 2.66? It would be nice if I could automate this resetting to just one click as I load and unload my synths often. I'm also interested in best bios settings for low latency and asio. Thank you for your time and the great job. Joenco |

Hello,
It looks like no one has an answer to my question. What happens if I change the latency in the asio driver from 2.66 to 10 and back to 2.66 I really would like to know this. Does it has something to do with memory and buffers or resetting something. I do not understand what is happening and why it doesn't work directly without the switching. Thank you, |

this might depend on certain aspects of hardware/software configuration...
the clicks are probably caused by the loss of synchronization caused by peak performance >> if I could automate this resetting to just one click as I load and unload my synths often I doubt this is possible... /E |

Peak performance
What do you mean with peak performance?

Oops
Hello, Here is the rest off my question. What do you mean with peak performance? Is the PCI bus? Is it the latency setting? Is it the overclocking? Is it hardware related or software related? I really don't know in which direction to look. Thank you, |

Hello,
To find out what is happening I installed the latest drivers from creative. Holly mowly ..... no more clicks and pops at 2ms latency? Is this for real? I thought KX driver asio were way superior to creative drivers. So I know now that it is not hardware related. I hope next versions of kx asio drivers will be tested on audigy2. I really will miss the routing possibilitys but for now I have to use creative drivers. Thank you all and have some fun, |

probably, that was a PCI issue then...
kX Drivers do not set-up PCI latency settings for SBLive/Audigy/Audigy2 cards since this information is not available you can try to write-down the PCI settings configured by the Creative drivers and use them for kX installation as well browse the forum for details... /E |

no luck
Hello,
Thank you for your time. I just checked PCI settings but they both are the same 32 for creative drivers and 32 for KX drivers. Any more suggestions? This is strange. No problems with creative drivers. Thank you, |

try to set-up your ASIO application to use the amount of channels you actually use
anybody else with reaktor and kontakt from NI experiencing this issue?.. /E |

I found a solution
Hello,
I really could not give up I changed my computer to standard instead of APCI and all clicks and pops are gone with KX drivers. Now I have 2.66 ms latency without problems. As a side effect I found out my idle cpu temp is now almost 10 degrees lower then with APCI. Is this normal? Thank you |

![]() I'm unsure, but it should be visa versa... (that is, the temperature should be lower for the ACPI-aware computer) but, anyway, I'm sure that's not a problem at all (unless you experience any stability issues) /E |

This is what I was thinking also.
So I tried installing the KX drivers and removing them again in PC with ACPI. Temperatures Without the KX drivers idle at 33 c degrees With Kx drivers 41.5 c degrees Any comment? Thank you, |
