The KX ASIO driver doesn't appear as a driver option when I install DSounds Live VST players (RT or GT). Any idea why this should be. The other drivers that show up in Cubase (ASIO DirectX and ASIO MME) also appear in the RT Player options, but it doesn't detect the KX driver. This means that the latency is too high to make it useable. Anybody else had the same problem? Any suggestions?

I had a simlar problem. I d/l'ed the demo of RT/GT player and it wouldn't start because it said it couldnt find a valid ASIO driver. It is now fixed with the help of an hour or so and a handy little proggy that everyone should learn to use called regedit
![]() Try this.... 1) Goto Start->Run and enter in "regedit" 2) goto Edit-->Find... on the menu bar. 3) Enter in "kxasio.dll". It might take a min to search. (it should take you to an entry called "(Default)" In a tree entry (in left pane) of somthing like: {5C0B12B1-F582-4935-BFAE-85267A6BE13D}. (If it dosen't then stop and tell me and i'll try and help some more.)) 4) What you want to do now, is find out the full path of kxasio.dll. If your running XP then this will be c:\windows\system32\kxasio.dll. Go and find kxasio.dll to make sure you know the correct path. 5) double click on the "(Default)" entry and change it to the complete path. Click OK. Restart the GT/RT player and cross your fingers!. Hope it works (did for me ). Feel free to ask more q's.DISCLAIMER: DON'T BLAME ME FOR ANYTHING THAT GOES WRONG!!!

probably, a better idea would be to 'reset global settings' -- this re-registers kxasio.dll automatically
![]() or run "regsvr32 kxasio.dll" /E |
