ASIO overloads in Logic 5.5.1

i'm running a p4 2.8ghz (800FSB, with HT) with an audigy platinum ex (SB0090) and kx 3534f, and i'm getting an annoying problem with easy asio overloads in logic platinum 5.5.1....

everything goes nicely until i scroll the arrange window left or right, in which case i get an instant asio overload... the asio drivers seem to be really sensitive to such things and its starting to get annoying

does anyone suffer from the same problem or can anyone suggest a workaround?
