Is it possible to just have the benefits of the lower latency ASIO drivers without the extra outputs 0/1, 4/5, 6/7 and 8/9 and all the other benefits bundled with the Kx drivers? I don’t mean to sound ungrateful but having installed the Kx drivers for my SoundBlaster Live 1024,I’ve found that all I want is the ability to play VST instruments in real-time without the delay experienced with non-ASIO soundcards and want everything else to remain as it was. Is this possible?

if you mean the ability to use kX ASIO with original creative driver/software then answer is No.
(if you mean something else then these "extra outputs" no way affect perfomance and latency of kX ASIO (you can just disable all the extra channels in your ASIO host))

ASIO
No, I mean the ability to tailor the Kx drivers software so that I have the ASIO driver aspect but without having several outputs – so that I retain the same set up pre-installation.

No, it is not possible.
Anyway somebody told me that the last driver update which you can get in Creative's website is something like an 'all in one' that works for all sblive models and installs a creative ASIO driver (with lower latency). I didn't check it so I just tell you as a comment. Does anyone have any information to confirm that? Nando |
