How to make SB0060 work with the kx driver?

Hello myFriends,

First of all let me thanks everybody involved in this project. It is a great project.

Coming to my problem... I have recently purchased a Sound Blaster Live 5.1 (SB0060US) card because it is very cheap this week. I would like to use this audio card with my Adobe Premiere Pro video editing application. This application requires a ASIO specification complied audio card. As you guys already know Creative does not ship the ASIO driver for this card.

Then obviously I started searching on google and found this great kxproject.

I was successfully able to install the driver but I have got multitude of problem like....

1. Only two speakers are working.
2. When I opened the Kx Mixer I see Kx Generic [9000] in the bottom lower right hand corner.
3. Can somebody tell me how do I test my 5.1 speakers with this driver installed.

Please can somebody help me thru my ordeal so I can start using this audio card with my Adobe Premiere Pro application.

Thanks a bunch.

I forgot to mention that I have downloaded the stable current driver 3534. If that helps with identifying my problems.

Another thing I forgot to mention was my motherboard also has a inbuilt sound but I have disable it in the BIOS so it does get in its way but the drivers I have installed with the motherboard for audio still exists.

Hello everybody,

I made some progress by intalling the latest beta driver 3537 and now it recognizes all my speakers.

When I did the speaker test I hear the sound only in the rear speaker so I did the swap on front and rear speakers. Now I hear only the sound in the front speaker. My center speaker works and my subwoofer works. But my two rear speakers don't work at all. Please can somebody tell me in layman terms as to what I have to do to make this work.

I am almost close to get this thing working with my adobe premiere pro product. Thanks a bunch everybody. Please try to help me.

Note: In the lower right hand corner it shows now SB022X or something. Still does not show exact card name. Mine is SB0060.

Please please please help...

The other day when I was tryin to install 3 cards in my computer, CT4830 (2), CT4870 one of the CT4830s kept getting recognized as a Generic APS or something similar. I removed the driver a few times in the control panel and rebooted. When that didn't work I removed the driver again in the control panel, shutdown, removed that card, rebooted, shutdown, reinserted the card and it was finally recognized as a CT4832, (KX doesn't necessarily call a CT4830 a CT4830).

Hope this will work for you.

if your card is recognized as 'Generic', there are at least two possible reasons:
a. your card is too new or to rare and I don't have a correct PCI id for it (I doubt this is true in your case)
b. your card's EEPROM was reset due to some hardware issue

>> But my two rear speakers don't work

open the Surrounder effect (or click 'Speaker set-up' in the kX Mixer window) and choose '5.1' preset

Can you post hardware info about your card? It could be interesting anyway.

Glad to see some replies to my post.

Sorry, it took me time to respond to the post as I just had a baby.

I bought this card at BestBuy so it is retail card and it is Sound Blaster Live 5.1 card. The model number on this box is SB0060US.

When I installed the latest 3537 driver(Beta I think) my card is recognized as SB022x(Still not correct). My guess is that there is one Sound Blaster Live 5.1 card which is OEM model and it is called SB0226. I am thinking this model SB0060 is recognized as SB022X becos they are similar cards but I am not certain.

Anyhow... Here is the complete spec on the SB0060 card:

http://us.creative.com/products/prod...Specifications

I also set the speaker setup to 5.1 but still have the same problem. Two speakers out of 5.1 set do not work those could be front of back depending the front and rear swapping in kx driver for this card.
