No for both. But take a look at ASIO4ALL, which may work with Extigy.

yep, some time ago I announced ASIO driver supporting Extigy;
however, it seems that there's no need for it, since there are at least -two- independent projects providing a 'generic' ASIO driver for any USB/PCI audio card (via Kernel Streaming interface)

since my own code of the ASIO driver for Extigy is also based on Kernel Streaming, I doubt there's any reason for doing the work that is already done

please let me know your opinion

/Eugene

p.s.
anyway, ac-3 support for 10k1 boards is impossible without an external ac-3 decoder, that's why the Extigy board bought thanks to your donations will definitely simplify my development

Hi Eugene!

Here´s my opinion: I would like to test YOUR Extigy-ASIO-driver, ´cause I like it if everything is coming from the same source. No hassle with different persons in different forums and since I know what a good stuff the kx-driver is - I don´t want to taste other things! And finally - I would miss the stability if I play different software onto my system and the one of it dosen´t know something about the other... Do you understand?!

Maybe you have a bit of time to end up this project with a working thingy .

Greetings!

unfortunately, the kX ASIO driver for Extigy (ASIOx driver) is a user-level DLL, not a kernel-level driver
that's why it requires Creative Driver in order to function properly
moreover, it doesn't communicate with the kX Mixer...

anyway, I will send you a 'first initial draft' of the driver soon -- for initial alpha-testing

/E

Hi Eugene!

Ohh, I fear I´ll never put any creatives stuff onto my system, so I think, I cannot be a tester for the driver, so sorry!!! Maybe I´m a bit too angry about it but I never forget all the stress I had with the extigy software. Please don´t waste your time - I think I leave the extigy better unconnected as stand-alone decoder. That seems safe to me. BTW I tried to use it as AC3 decoder while proceeding the AC3 stream over SPDIF of my Audigy. The only result was a short blinking of the DOLBY-LED, then there was nothing. Last time I read about SB0090 (that I have) and AC3 issues and so I think it wouldn´t work with my Audigy, or am I wrong here? I use the AC3-Filter 0.70 for DVD watching.

Many thanks in advance!

>> I fear I´ll never put any creatives stuff onto my system

the same for me
that was one of the reasons to pause the project

>> BTW I tried to use it as AC3 decoder

have you tried 3537?..
your results are really =very= strange: my Extigy decodes the signal from my A2PlatEx fine...
it seems that the ac-3 issue (which also slows down ac-3 support for Live/10k1 cards) is quite unpredictable...

I will start a new thread dealing with AC3 soon, but please post your results here meanwhile

Hi Eugene!

I´m happy that you understand me (related to creative )! And I must say, that I´m not very familiar with passing thru AC3 streams - it was a short test weeks ago. I selected in AC3Filter SPDIF mode, then SPDIF1 in Mixer AC3passthru and connected the extigy optical - except the short blinking there was nothing. It appeared everytime if I switched between internal and spdif in AC3Filter. Also the AC3passthru icon appeared for few seconds. That´s all I remember - maybe you could give me a clear step by step advice for testing this again and if it fails then my Audigy is one of the error-things...

Greetings!
