....esential sound problem.....

in hope not to ask the same again and agian ....have read lot of this forum ....


..hi .....im glad to see all of you having problems .....


I ....im using the latest?? ver of kx drv 5, 10, 00, 3537 - debug ....audigy card (player i guess) ....i have a general sound problem, that means i have cracks in the sound, doesnt matter vst or just an audio file in cubase SX 2!! and sometimes in winamp ....sometimes it cracks sometimes not ....ASIO 5,33/10.66l .... i have tried 170 ms and it seems to work ......i have left the orginal buffer settings cause i dont know what i have to change to make it working ......so what can it be ???

II looking for a way to set the record source to internal (what you hear) ..in cubase ..i think it is not a big problem but i dont know how to set inputs etc...

..tech >> P4 HyperT , ASUS P4P8000 deluxe , 1GB ram , Audigy , MIDI input (keyboard) ...have read something about ACPI problems ....have checked the IRQ and KX i working on a separate .....blabla ...i dont know it at all .......

System Specs

do you have any other PCI cards… SCSI or RAID?

..thx !! ....yes i have raid on board and 2 discs connectet to it ....on separate chanells (master) 2X120 gb WD .....a lan card, ATI 9500 PRo on AGP , and the audigy .... thats all ....tell me please what is the minimum latency i can make and which is nesesary to work >>> want to play VST insruments , record MIDI impulses and automation of it ......i have to reinstal my system so i can shutt off APIC ....do i realy have to do it ?? will it help ?? blabla .....thx A LOT !!! WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT MY SYSTEM ???

System Specs

depending on how the chipset works… the raid chip may be attached to the PCI bus which may cause issues due to bandwidth - try at the highest latenct setting possible and slowly owrk your way down until you find one that is workable and does not crack & pop - ie i 10 ms cracks and 20 doesn't, use 20

another thing, ACPI causes issues in win2k, but works much better that w/o ACPI when using win xp
