Hi,
I have been spending the last 48 hours figuring out my system, and am just about ready to tourch it with a flame thrower. Here goes: (Sounds boring but) I am trying to record some audio from my SB Live! (Value) Line-In jack (blue thingy), routing via the KX DSP and into a stereo audio track in Cubase SX 2. I am rather sure the card is damaged, since I did all the following: 1. New cables from D-50 synth direct into SB Live! Line In 2. In KX Mixer (AC97 tab): The pull down menu is set to Line In, All other inputs are muted (besides the Line In...) 3. In KX Recording tab: All bottom row inputs are muted (besides Line In). Line In set to unity gain All top row record levels set to 100 (just to be sure) 4. In's & Out's tab: All bottom row inputs are muted (Besides Line In) Top row SPdif's and Headphones -Muted too. 5. In the DSP window: Prolog inputs 1 & 2 (AC97) were routed over and over to ALL the ASIO ports (in pairs, starting with 0 & 1). ************************************************** ************* -- At this point I hooked up the PEAK VU utilitie's input to the PROLOG 1 & 2 outputs - but got NO SIGNAL on the "LEDs". Reason leads me to believe that under normal conditions - the meter should show something! -- -- Also, I tried a MINIMAL DSP setup with only the PROLOG and EPILOG modules, same stuff: no input! -- ************************************************** ************* 6. In Cubase SX2: Project > Project Setup is set to 48 kHz, @ 24 bit. Devices > Device Setup > VST Multitrack is set to kX ASIO with a latency of 21.333 ms. Respectivly, all VST Inputs and Outputs can "see" the 16 kX ASIO ports. So all seems fine up to now. Devices > VST Connections - Inputs and outputs are properly hooked up to ASIO pairs (I use only 1 stereo pair). And yes, I re-routed the inputs each time I tried a consecutive AC97-to-ASIO pair in the DSP. Note: Audio output from within Cubase sound fine, using a few VSTi's. Also noproblem with MIDI routing or VSTi latency. Finaly, I set up a single audio"test" track to see if anything works. The track is "listening" to the Stereo input, It is in "Record Enable" mode and I messed around with toggling "Monitor" on and off. In the Mixer window I have 3 strips: Stereo Pair In, The Actual track I want to record and Buss1 out. VU meter is set to "Input VU". BUT I AM GETTING NO SIGNAL. Ideas? Help, or should I just buy a $1,000 sound card... Thanks. |

re-reading ur post makes me think you may have a damaged card unfortunately… if possible try testing in with the original creative drivers and in another machine

Fixed!
Uninstalled, Checked with updated Creative drivers - Was OK, Uninstalled them, and installed the "stable" version of kX drivers. Now Cubase works GREAT but I have a new problem, whicj will get its own thread. Thanks!
