Can I confirm that the kX drivers will enable me to mix sound to 5.1 chanels of audio. I am developing interactive media and need to locate individual sounds in separate speaker locations. I will be using WinMAX-MSP to generate and mix the sounds. There seem to be lots of 'fake' surround emulators around. Will kX runing a SoundBalster Live enable me to pan a live signal to appear only in the rear left speaker.
The FAQ states that not all ASIO v.2 facilities are supported, so I was wondering if this included real-time multi-speaker signal paning?

Hmmm, in the DSP window of kX you are able to mix a lot around - so you have the ability to feed the 5.1 signal into the DSP, going into a mixer plugin straight to the outs you want. Then feed the live signal over another input into the DSP and mix it to where you want. This may makes it necessary to create an own plugin specially for your desire, but it should work. With an ASIO-application you have 16 inputs into DSP at the same time and 6 analog outs on the card and with some expansion a lot more. It depends all on that what you want to do. kX may be a great help for this! I recommend for a great sound performance and more resources in DSP the Audigy1 card model, which is the most stable card model and fully supported by kX. You could get a used one in the net for just few money.
