Recommend very basic ASIO multitrack

Well I've played with all sorts now. Cubase, Ableton, Cakewalk, Sonar.

But I feel that I shoud keep things simple and focus on the music.

So can someone recommend me a free and very basic ASIO multitrack recorder with support for VST effects?

I'd like to be able to sit here and lay down a track at a time with my acoustic and in-ear metronome (I'll get headphones one day).

Now I've got an Audigy and wrapped my hard drive in foam I feel I'm nearly there.

Well if you don't need MIDI (coming in the commercial version) try Kristal (free / ASIO / VST / 16 tracks:

I also use ntrack (not free)

Have fun,
