(1) naughty 4870 & (2) good 4830's

Hi all! I have come in a time of frustration. I finally was able to locate and purchase a ct4830 and ct4870, which brings me up to (2) ct4830's and (1) ct4870. I've already installed them with no problems using kx3537. After reading many many posts on setting up 3 cards, I have found out that the pins 5 and 6 on the ct4830's do not work and neither of them have the cd-spdif inputs on them so I know I can't hook up the other 2 cards to one of them and have all 3 working at the same time. But, the ct4870 does have a cd-spdif input. So at the moment, I have as follows:

pins 17 & 18 from (#1)ct4830 to cd-spdif input on ct4870
pins 17 & 18 from (#2)ct4830 to pins 15 & 16 on ct4870

This leaves me only partly working. For some reason, I can monitor the line in on ct4870 but I cannot record in cubase. Even with just the ct4870 hooked up, I get no juice into cubase, but I can hear it just fine. I have the dsp settup just like I used to with my original ct4830, so this leaves me very perplexed. I spent all day messing with cables and dsp's and mixers and nothing seems to get the line in recording on the 4870. I even tried using the cd-in (not spdif) with a jack and I can monitor that too, but no recording.

On the other hand, I had no problem hooking up the two 4830's and getting 4 mono inputs into cubase, but then the 4870 just sits there feeling lonely and left out because I cannot get two cards into 1 4830. Poor, poor 4870. Why cant i record from line in on 4870? I suspect it has something to do with the dsp settings but like I said, I've read countless posts and tutorials on this and nothing has worked so far. 4 inputs are great, but with a 6 person band, it would be great to have 6 inputs.

I've seen one post where someone has the same exact setup as what I'm trying to accomplish, so I imagine this is possible. I just can't get 4870 to record. If anybody has time, maybe some screens of the dsp for each card could help a man out. Or maybe I am hooking up stuff wrong. Please help.

Absolutely no offence to you dj_stick, but that didn't help me at all. LOL. But you will be happy to know (maybe not as happy as me) that I now have 6 mono inputs working correctly. All this time, I didnt realise in the ASIO control panel that there was a dropdown form the installed cards. I had the wrong one selected. Don't forget, I've been a fan of the kx project for a long, long time but have only used it for one card until now. I just want to say thank you to the peep(s) who made KX possible. Respect. Soon, I will take some pics of my setup and post for anyone interested in seeing. Is there a proper place for these or should i just attach to this post?
