My supernatural experience with KX
HA HA....thought you got rid of me, eh? I have a new problem with my 3 soundcard setup and Cubase 5.1. I currently have 6 mono inputs running into Cubase, and all record just fine and dandy, with one minor problem. At any given time while recording or monitoring, and without warning, and multiple times throughout the session for that matter, the tracks will swap inputs. This happens with all 6 channels. Sometimes it happens 3 or 4 times a minute or other times it wont happen at all. I cant find any reason why this should be happening. I've tried different routings on the epilog and into totally different inputs and the same thing seems to keep happening. This is a major problem because I usually add eq and effects to the recordings and all the sudden, the guitar track with reverb and delay will swith with the drums and now the drums have the reverb and delay. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Also, will installing the the newest beta driver put me in a better position than i am with 3537. If it does, am I correct when saying I have to install 3538c then 3538g then 3538h to be up to date? BTW, my 3 cards are 1 - 4870 and 2 - 4830's.....and the 4870 is the master card.

as for the tracks swapping, that is really strange, have you tested in another sequencer?

Well, I use reason...but that is all midi...so, Cubase is the only program I use to record multiple tracks. When i use Sound forge, I only use 2 inputs so that give no trouble. As I sit here typing to you, I have cubase open and my drum machine plugged into left and right of the 4870 card. Cubase is not recording so I am just monitoring it right now. Also, in the DSP, I have all the sources disconnected from the xrouting, so I do not hear the original sound, just the processed sound from cubase. But if i sit and watch the levels on the mixer, Drum machine should stay on track 1 and 2 but sometimes it will jump to 3 and 4 or 5 and 6. Wierd.
