audigy 2zs/cubase sx driver problems
Hello, I wonder if someone can help me; this is my problem:
I just bought the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro soundcard, and wanted to work with cubase SX. When I go to set the ASIO-driver to the correct Audigy 2 ZS-driver, things start to get wrong, so I trie switching to another ASIO-driver. Than things really go wrong; with one there's no inpute (I did check the inputs in Cubase, ofcourse), with the other I get a MIDI-latency, and sometimes Cubase just goes mad, and I have to shut it down. I work with a 3.0 Ghz processor, 2 times 512 MB memory, so I KNOW that's not the problem. I also read it is a common problem with the Audigy. Does someone have this problem too? Is there a much better driver? Should I switch to a different soundcard? I hope someone can help me, maybe I'm just missing something Thanx... |

Hello, I am using Cubase VST via an SB-Audigy card and it drove me nuts using the Creative drivers. Then I found the kXproject page and installed their drivers and software. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!
I am still fine-tuning my PC audio system but now..... I can record my MIDI keyboard in realtime and it plays back as I played it. I can run my audio glichlessly and cracklessly at a latency of 11ms as opposed to Creative 50ms The mixer and config software is second to none - and it's all for FREE! With a bit of fine tuning you might get the latency down to 5ms or 2ms but I really don't think there is any need. My PC audio system is working better than ever at 11ms or 20ms. Remember this, the lower the latency - the higher the CPU usage. I record at a low latency but I process & master the playback performance at a slightly higher latency. This gives your CPU a bit of headroom for using more FX on the mixdown. I really recommend you go to the link and download their installation file http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/index.php?skip=1 Happy music making.

hi jiiteepee
Where's that then!? I couldn't find the Creative ASIO control panel to adjust the settings. All I could get in Cubase was 50ms. If you could tell me how you managed do get your 2ms, I wouldn't mind experimenting with the proper drivers.Oh, by the way, I am using an Audigy 1 not the Audigy 2, maybe the software that came with my card is different. I have just found out that my card only supports ASIO not ASIO-2. Maybe that is why I had the 50ms. As for "identical", have you been to the Creative website and checked the forums out there? Maybe someone there has had similar experiences to yourself. Also, when you say "....Cubase goes mad.....", do you know what triggers this "madness" off. Is it when you click on a certain setting? |
