Record using ASIO in Cakewalk

Hello. I'm trying to record in cakewalk sonar 3.1 producer edition, but when I select the asio drivers and restart the program, no devices are listed. What I need to do to use asio in cakewalk?

Thanks!

One way you want see any ASIO drivers in SONAR is because the kX DSP is not setup correctly. Also, keep in mind that SONAR can only use 1 ASIO driver at a time. So if you installed another program that has an ASIO driver SONAR is probably only seeing that driver. You will have to uninstall that program (and delete the cakewalk.ini (and maybe AUD.ini) to be sure SONAR detects the kX ASIO driver), and run SONAR again selecting the ASIO driver in Options/Audio Advanced tab. Shut down and restart SONAR. You should see the ASIO drivers in Options/Audio Drivers tab. Make sure you highlight all the drivers and restart SONAR if they werent already highlighted.

If you still dont see ASIO drivers, the DSP setup is not good, or installation went wrong.

Once SONAR recognizes the kX ASIO driver, you can reinstall the other program that has an ASIO driver (if you were using another program with an ASIO driver).

Did I mention there's a guide for SONAR and kX setup you can read by clicking on the link in my signature below.
