General KX Recording Problem - Please Help.
Hi There.
I'm using the KX drivers on an Audigy 2 card. I have my mixing desk plugged into the front phono in's of the Audigy card. My problem is that I can hear my original source guitar blended in when I add an effect like guitar rig and I have no idea how to get rid of it. After my part is recorded the original source guitar cannot be heard in playback, just the effected guitar is heard. Which is great. I know I shouldn't be hearing the original source guitar sound and I think there is something wrong with my soundcards routing. I've been told that when i insert guitar rig (or any effect) into my (sonar) tracks fx bin it should automatically default to 100% wet but even when i mute the track, i can still hear the original source guitar coming from my desk. any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance stinkystank I think i posted this in the wrong forum before. Apologies. |

Hey Dj Stick.
Look I'm really sorry for needing an idiots guide but i've tried that and It doesn't work. I have gone to "ins and outs" in the kx mixer and pressed the greenish blue "Mute" button under Aux 2 fader. This is where my guitar goes in. It does mute the guitar but it mutes it completely. I can't hear it when i use guitar rig. I want to only hear the guitar rig effect and not the original source sound. continued thanks stinkystank Last edited by stinkystank; May 9, 2005 at 03:17 AM. |

Ok So I unmuted and raised the faders of the AUX 2 in the record window and I pulled the wave recording level faders all the way down in the record window and nothing has changed. Still hear the original source guitar in the when I play through guitar rig. I even hear it when I'm on the desktop.
thanks for you time. any other ideas? stinkystank |

I have the same problem, I'm using amplitube through ableton live, but my issue is exactly as yours, if I mute the input I get no signal to the sequencer, if I unmute it, it plays through all of the time even on the desktop and in the background behind the processed sound
I'm using the mic channel on an sblive and running it though the AC97 since that's the only way I can get sound into the sequencer on any of the channels, aux2 never did anything for me even when the line in connection worked so I'm confused There has to be a way to run it as an input and silence it when monitoring is off instead of sending it directly to the speakers Last edited by crod242; May 13, 2005 at 02:35 AM. |

Problem Solved
go here: http://au.geocities.com/kxcubase/ then follow the last part where you disconnect the two from the xrouter in dsp, works fine then |
