Problems with the KX driver in Cubase SX

Hey I've been having some problems getting asio drivers to work properly with cubase sx (I have the audigy 2). So I've read that the audigy 2 doesn't support anything below 48khz, which is a pain since everything is in 44.1 (I don't want to switch). So I've gone through a few drivers, but the problem is, anytime I get a few native instruments loaded (2 reaktors and 1 kontakt) up, my computer will slow down to a crawl (I would move the mouse and maybe 5 second later it would register), so after I switched to the KX driver, it does it still but not as bad, but now I'm getting a lot of crackling/pops. I've put all my buffers maxed out, and the latency real high, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I know there must be some sort of configuration problem I'm having, anyone have any ideas?

I think youīve done so many things in the past with installing / uninstalling drivers, that you have some driver collision on your system. For kX itīs necessary to uninstall all drivers you used before with your audigy. If nothing helps or you donīt know whatīs going on, the best solution is to make a complete new installation of your harddisk and then try it again. The 48kHz issue is present on all creative card models and for perfect ASIO-recording it is absolutely necessary to move your sound project to 48kHz. This is well known and normally no problem, since most of the professional equipment is working on that sample rate too (or higher). kX is a powerfull music solution, but finally you have to deceide for yourself.

ok I uninstalled all my drivers, then installed the standard creative labs audigy 2 driver which runs things at 48khz, and things are running a bit better, but it should still be running faster, do you think the kx drivers would help much?
I'm running a 1.8 ghz p4, 768 rdram machine using cubase sx, native instruments and win xp

First of all: for music listening and making kX is the better choice. But you have to learn a lot, how kX works. The functionality of kX is simply huge and you have to understand why. If you want to give it a try, you have to uninstall all previous audio-drivers and then install kX. Read all comments about installing and the guides before, so you have less problems later. The thing with cd-burning and making mp3īs depends on your software. Modern sequencers are able to export audio in every sample-rate you wish and for making mp3s there are many free tools or professional ware on the market. Use the net to find out.
