I guess this topic (or similar) was posted around here many times, but I can't find adequate instructions for my set-up to work... or maybe I am just such a noob http://www.hardwareheaven.com/images/s...big%20grin.gif

I have 2 SB live (SB 0060 + CT 4670) and one nvidia MB card, sempron 2200+, 512 MB Ram. I already have KX drivers, ASIO4ALL, NVIDIA ASIO and

I want to route audio signal from Traktor through Ableton, so I can use effects in Ableton (or maybe there is maybe a better sofware for effects?). I have already done that with MME/directX drivers, but latencies were too high and were buliding-up and crackling was present...

As ASIO drivers offer low latency, but I can't same ASIO drivers in ableton & traktor... So I need something as I read multiChannel ASIO? or something like that.. But it is really 2 much complicated for me http://www.hardwareheaven.com/images/s...big%20grin.gif

I would be very greatful if someone would write a step-by-step painless tutorial for setting that routing up... or maybe a tutorial (post) already exists?

What type of effect do you want to use? I'm not sure I understand what youre saying. Are you saying Ableton doesnt support the use of an ASIO driver? If Ableton and tracktor has ASIO support use ASIO playback in tracktor to route the ASIO playback signal to kX DSP effects, then from ASIO recoding outputs to Ableton. two cards? connect them via digital

use traktor on your slave card and send it's audio stream to the second card and process it there

I need some effects while rolling with traktor.
As far as I know, ableton4 is just a right tool, or is there something else?

dj_stick, but this is via MME/directX? not via ASIO. Too much latency..

My main qustion is: Is it possible to get effected sound out of traktor (with possibility of effecting each deck seperatly) to speakars without real-time latency and without crackling and using 2 SB Live! cards

this method will work via any driver method including asio as it is a hardware method

if you want to have each deck affected seperately you will need to use the "external mixer" mode, but you will lose all mixing capabilities

Well I did it already with 2 sound cards and with a analog cable from one out to a line in in another... it works In both programs I set ASIO.. in one KX asio in another ASIO4ALL, and I have just 10ms latency through all.
Are there any optimalizations? I have some problems with crackling and hearing sounds while moving windows, mouse... and when speakers are loud and there is no music it gets quite annoying...

Would digital cable help with that? Or maybe is there and option with only one card?

why are u using 2 different drivers at same time?

I am using 2 audigy cards so i have totally 4 inputs.
and my mixer has an effect send/return.
but i am using only dsp effects.
maybe i change my setup to use ableton live's effect instead dsp effect.
because the bpm synchronisation
Audigy 1 (sb0090):
2 outs from traktor connected to mixer.
Audigy 2 (sb0350):
1 output -> mixer fx return
1 output -> amp (look: before the crossover its also routed to asio for recording. so i record the same "tweaked" sound i hear)
1 output -> active subwoofer
1 input -> mixer output
1 input -> mixer fx send
mixer out -> line in (audigy2 sb350)
1 output

I didn't experient with KX effects yet as I thought they are some low quality efx... I also have MIDI controller (BCR2000).. I am using it for controlling ableton effects and traktors controlls...
I think that ableton is more apropriate for a ameteur like me

u forgot to tell me your reason for using different drivers.
i have an evolution uc33 for controlling and want to built me a DIY custom midi
controller.
by the way in 2 weeks i needn't dsp or abletons effects anymore:
i am going to buy me a kaoss pad 2

I am using diffrent drivers beacuse you can't use 2 kx asio drivers at once in diffrent programs... or can you?

emm.. and one more question... how can I digitaly route audio from one card to another? is this: LINK what I need? or is there any alternative method? as I doubt that I am going to get such card in store

yes u can install kx for both cards! u can choose ur prefered for each application. but u cant use the 2 cards in one programm at the same time.
try it. maybe ur latency gets better!
next: simply activate ur digital out with kx on ur sb card.
u can use digital AND analog inputs at the same time. so u can "add" some analog input to ur sb live. dj stick has written a very good tutorial about this: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/general-discussion/50590-quick-guide-get-extra-inputs-your-card.html
