cubase problem
hi, i'm having a problem with cubase and kX.
After i installed kx drivers, i can hear the vst instruments in the cubase but i can't hear the rest of the channels and sounds. Anyone got a solution? If i have to modify the DSP i would appreciate a screenshot and how it should look like. Regards. |

Be sure the cubase mixer is set up properly and you use kX-asio driver @ 48kHz sample rate. Be sure your master section puts out on the channel pair that is connected with the physical card output of your choice. Double check all your routings in cubase. If no help, be more specific in desribing your problem.

thanks for the info but stil it doesnt work. here is the problem in detail:
i have in the cubase channels a midi melody (many instruments blah blah (screenshot)) http://img474.imageshack.us/img474/7...emelody9ee.jpg Also i have a VST Instrument (drums) (screenshot) http://img374.imageshack.us/img374/8...trument2df.jpg Before i installed kX I was using creative drivers (which i didn't uninstalled, the kx drivers overwrite the creative and now everywhere says that i'm using kx and not creative so probably its not a drivers problem) So, with the creative drivers when i played the melody i could hear both the drums vst and the midi channels. (note: i didn't changed anything in cubase besides the asio which i configued to match with the kx) With the kx drivers i can hear only the drums (vst instrument) and not the midi melody. I can hear perfectly though all music files (.mp3, .mid etc) Here is a screenshot of kX DSP (maybe something is wrong here) http://img476.imageshack.us/img476/3299/dsp6ob.jpg also here is a screenshot of the mixers if it helps http://img352.imageshack.us/img352/3957/mixers3zi.jpg |

I think you problem is Sound Font related. kX doesnt load a default sound font like creative drivers do. You must load a sound font. Search the forum here for there is alot of info on how to load/use sound fonts. I personal dont use sound font so i cant help any further.

To start with, just use the soundfonts that came with the card. Get them off the CD, or check your Windows/System32 directory as they may still be there from when you were using the CL driver. Search for *.sf2.

If you managed to get MIDI sound, you should think about a completely uninstall of the creative drivers, since they can cause performance problems or bod, if you install kX on top of creative... Use DriverCleaner dor doing that.
