Soundblaster Live 5.1 ASIO?
This is my first post in this forum. Please can you advise me on the following:
I have a Soundblaster Live 5.1. Creative labs do not provide an ASIO driver for this card. Can I use the kxproject drivers with this card? Will this give me ASIO drivers that will result in low latency with Cubase VST 5.3? Do I need to upgrade to Audigy? |

Your device appears to be kX-compatible... Try it out
![]() You will get ASIO support with Live! too.

Well, any special - no
![]() You will need the debug libs (on kX download site) and driver file... that's all ![]() If you need more info - check the kxhelp.chm included in kX 3528, kX Setup part. If you still have no idea - post your question here (it will be added to next version of help, if it is missing).

installation?
The PC is currently using onboard AC97 sound. I am going to install the SB Live 5.1 tomorrow. Should I first uninstall the AC97 sound drivers, remove the device from device manager, shut down the PC, disable the onboard sound in the bios, install the SB Live, then cancel the driver installation when booting, then run the kx setup? Is this the right sequence?

Sonar 2.2 XL is released, and it said add support for ASIO cards. Does that mean I can stick with SB Live! and gain the ASIO features with it ? I use the latest KX driver with the libs...

SB LIVE and KX gives me silence? HELP
It look like the SB LIve works fine for some, but I've got silence is golden as the KX kicks in just as XP starts and then everything goes silent.
I've just downloaded the libs file from the UK KX mirror site, any clues as to where these files install and if the site notes claim that these files are in the full version (i installed v3532) then why can't I use Atmosphere!!!! From much annoyed Psychofish |

Thanks Max M
As you directed, it's always good to read the instructions, and I shall use the clearer channel for recording, but switched channels back do my dual boot PC is sending sound out the same socket. Thanks again, will get on with the music now! P-Fish
