Radeon X1050

Basic Stats:
Pentium 4 2.8 GHz
1GB RAM
Windows XP MCE 2005
Radeon X1050 (Gigabyte)
Catalyst Version Omega 7.12 and accompanying drivers (Omega 3.8.442)
Toshiba 42HM66 DLP connected via DVI to HDMI cable (720p/1080i)

Problem:
I can't seem to get the card to display an image to fit my screen.

When I had the stock ati drivers in, they havd a utility that let me manually resize the screen. problem was the screen wasn't centered. Bigger problem was some ati2mtag (CRT invalid display type) message kept locking up my system. So I decided to go a different rout and picked up the omega drivers.

Everything seems fine (read stable), but i can't find a way to scale the desktop to my screen. I've tried to configure the the FPD screen and hit the "Scale image to panel size" button, but the screen just gives one flicker and doesn't actually do anything. I also tried forcing 720p and 1080i (separately of course) and still no joy.

The only thing i need this thing to do is stay running
fit my screen.

Any ideas?

Greetings and welcome to DriverHeaven!

If you're using Omegadrivers, you should also be using the Ray Adam's ATI Tray Tool that comes with the drivers.

If so, be sure you have ATT active and then right click on the icon in the Taskbar. Scroll up to Displays and click to open that option.

Now, with the Displays open, you should see your monitor listed and it should be shown as Display 1. Off to the right you need to click on Options.

Once you have the Options open, you should be able to stretch/move and/or otherwise manipulate the size of the display to fit your screen.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, no dice. You thought what I thought. There is no stretch (or anything related) option there. There is just the same scale image to fit screen, which does absolutely nothing (see picture below). any other ideas? I tried going back to the ATI drivers but they are still unstable. This is the last hurdle.

That is, apparently, a limitation with the particular connection you're using. As I'm using a 21 in CRT, I do have a Standard tab for resizing the image as shown in the screen capture below:

I guess someone using a similar setup will need to respond to give further suggestions.

You might also send an email to Omegadriver about this. It could be that there is something that we're overlooking that he's aware of.

Good luck!
