How do I install Directx 9.0c?

Currently my computer is running Directx 9.0b, according to dxdiag (4.09.0000.0903). However some games of mine claim that you must need 9.0c to play. I have it in few newer game CDs but after I finishing installing 9.0c, from dxdiag it still shows 9.0b, whats wrong? how come 9.0c never overwrite the old one??? HELP.

go http://www.microsoft.com/directx download lastest web updated then your done if not formated Do you have sp2 installed? glad help you if you need help.

The February 2006 directx 9c runtime redistributable is here:

Don't know why the directx site itself still points to the earlier version.
