audigy install problem

Recently i had to reinstall windows xp over an old installation.
When i went to install my sound blaster audigy i used the modified audigy 4 pro drivers since they rock. Everything went smooth untill i restarted and noticed i had no sound. I did a disgonstic and it says no hardware mixer can be found. I uninstalled the drivers and cleaned up using driver cleaner pro. I did a install from the orginal audigy cd but i got the same error, " no hardware mixer found". I took the card out of my system and i'm forced to use the sound on my motherboard.

I'm up to date on my virus scanner, windows updates, and directx

I have no clue how to correct this problem, can anyone help?
