Dunlavy SC-VI speakers. I haven't had the pleasure of listening to them personally, but the people who I've talked to who I hold in good opinion in audio matters who have listened to them agree that they are absolutely marvelous.

Wilson, JMLabs, Dynaudio, Kaya, Peak and Kharma all make awesome speakers as well.

Obviously, great speakers have to be matched up with great amps (DarTZeel amps are good, among others).

2 - Martin Logan Statement 2 electro-static towers, a Linn Klimax Kontrol amp, signal via a perfect bit-rate TOSLINK/SPDIF connection. Cost -> about 200K +/- a few 10K.

onkyo makes some wicked amps/rack units

speakers are a "listen and see what you like" kinda deal, but you get what you pay for, and on a sub, I'd go for an 8-10", as they have tighter sound and tend to not "humm" like larger ones

amp: (2) oldschool Crown Studio Reference Series - $4000-$6000 (depending on model) one to drive sub and one to drive mids
http://www.crownaudio.com/pdf/legacy/136734.pdf
Speakers: Manger audio MSW transducer speakers (depending on application pick a speaker) 3 grand to $13200 (USD)
http://www.manger-audio.co.uk/manger-speakers.htm
The MSW transducer is a single 8 inch membrane, 80-35,000 hz response
Subwoofer: I'd build a custom one, 18" Adire Audio Tumult 18D2
http://www.adireaudio.com/Home/TumultSeries.htm with 18" passive radiators (depends on what WinISD Pro tells me )
Tumult is $750
