Volume Control

Is there a way I can adjust the maximum volume level of my MP3s and what not? I have onboard AC '97 with the latest SiS 7012 audio driver..

Yes there is.

First of all, you must set your windows main (and wave) volume to the volume you want to keep as maximum. Then, using whichever player you prefer, set the options to use "direct sound" instead of "wave out" (i know winamp and sonique can do this, not sure about other players though...).

Once it's set to Direct Sound, it should limit itself to the windows volume you've set in the volume control.

You should realize, though, that this limit will only be in effect when you are using the player with this option turned on.

No dice man..I was already using the Direct Sound output plugin (v2.2.1 I believe). The main system volume is maxed, and I generally just use the volume control on my speakers to turn it up and/or down, but the only time I have a problem is when I use headphones. The volume control on both my headphones and system volume are cranked, and it just isn't loud enough..

Thanks for the links..I ended up troubleshooting the problem, and in order to increase the max volume through Winamp, I just incrase the Preamp output via the EQ window.. Works for me..
