Audigy 2 ZS Platinum - Connect without AD_EXT on Motherboard?

Hi Guys,

I recently purchased an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Sound Card. I was most excited about the front panel, but when I opened it up and attempted to install it, I found that it connected to the motherboard through AD_EXT. Unfortunately, my motherboard (Elitegroup ECS 755-A2 Socket 754, see here1 or here2) does not have an AD_EXT header (or a firewire header, but that is beside the point.)

I have 2 questions:
  1. Is there a way to connect the front panel of the setup to the motherboard without buying a new motherboard? (ie. some homemade solution to get it to communicate with my motherboard.)
  2. If not, what inexpensive motherboard would you recommend that would be AMD Socket 754 compatible, have Firewire (1394), AGP 8x, SATA, and of course have an AD_EXT header, and thus be compatible with my sound card?
Thanks!

If you're talking 'bout connecting the Platinum Drive, you can't connect it to any motherboard, but only to the Audigy 2 ZS PCI -card (there is AUD_EXT connector onboard) --> look from the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum User's Guide (Guide (in .cfm or .PDF -format) can be found on CT driver/software CD or you can DL it from CT Support).

Oh my gosh... you're right. File this one under "Idiot Alert". Haha!

Thanks a lot, I REALLY appreciate it.
