Realtek AC97 driver V3.87 problem

Anyone noticed windows boot issues with this version? Having tried it myself I've had to revert back to 3.86 because it causes WinXP to suffer a long boot time. It doesn't happen straight away, but after a couple of reboots it becomes apparent something isn't quite right.

Just wondering if anyone else has the same issue that's all. Using an Asrock 939Dual-Sata2 motherboard. The problem happens under both standard XP and under XP 64-bit, which suggests they've broken something in the latest version (?). Like I said, the previous version (3.86) works fine.

hi,
actually i was using 3.87 and it was absolutely fine, low boot times, but when i upgraded to 3.88 it started slowing down. This however only happened for the first few boots and now its back to normal

Well 3.88 is fine for me, guess they fixed whatever it was that was causing the problem.

Update: Yeah, they did (quote from readme):

Quote:

History:
--------
A3.88 -
1. For special customize settings
2. Update Realtek 3D engine.
3. Fix delay issue in starting Windows.
