Audigy 2 Value - best sounding driver

Hi!

I am a little bit confused from all the "youpax" and "audigy 4" threads.
Most of them are old.

Can you please tell me the best driver for my Audigy 2 value ?
I'll become the best sound by installing Audigy 4 drivers and a "youpax" driver, or ?

Can you give me the download links for the driver I need?

Thx.

PS: sry for my bad english, I'm still learning it :-P

Here are the best drivers for A2V/WinXP ATM.

What do you think you're needing "better drivers" for?

You have ASIO and WDM/KS drivers already there (these gives the best quality out of the card) --> depending on, what are you doing w/ your card, you maybe just need some software, that supports those driver modes, being installed (player, etc. but games don't normally support ASIO or WDM/KS).

creative drivers are simply said a crap! had kx audio drivers just reinstalled the newest creative drivers for my sys to get eax in cstrike workin (sometimes i fall back in this adventure, but it never works like in the old times with my sb4.1 and win98).. but the sound is much worse than it was with the kx drivers. youp drivers are also fine (audigy1 user). you should try youp or kx-project drivers! for games youp is better but kx is better has much more settings and features

Big Grin

Kx driver is much better than creative one for CS: source, I didn't play it now, but help a friend to install kx for the game. crystal clear and impressive.

kx driver work fine for D3D sound game but still have some problem for EAX sound game. such as BF2 and OFP.

Cool!

find kx driver here
http://www.hardwareheaven.com/general-discussion/97845-3538j-released.html

1. Uninstall your existing driver, creative? in control panel
2. Restart to safe mode, clean existing driver with Driver clean pro, select creative, then clean.
3. reboot, and install kx driver

By the way, now 3537 is stable one, seems better than 3538j for gaming

Please also read some from kx forum and learn more, wish it help for you

youppax: difficult to install / good music quality / eax 1 doesnt work that well for me
audigy1 creative: total crap driver / badm usic quality / eax1 could be better
kx: best quality over all / perfect driver / no eax

realtek ac97 onboard sound (abit av8): music quality = ok / eax 1 counterstrike works well / i m not using the audigy anymore except for recording

@ Little Lamer, you got the YouPax to install on your AUdigy2 Value? that's the SB400? can you point me to that installer..I tried and tried to get them installed on the SB400 and they won't go, I even had conversations with the authors. this was a while ago though so maybe they fixed them...any info would be great..thx..

You need a new version from the youpax driver , because the older ones don't work with the a2 value. I'm not sure but I think I had the youpax 2.31.

For Installing only do this:
1. Uninstall your existing driver, creative and audigy in control panel
2. Restart to safe mode, clean existing driver with Driver clean pro, select creative, then clean.
3. reboot, and install the creative software from your creative CD or install a hacked a4 cd. But keep attention: do not install the drivers , only the software.
4. install youpax drivers.

so it should work.
