What exactly is this? I downloaded and installed the 2_08_0004 drivers from creative's website and installed it for my audigy 1 and it worked fine.

Hmm...I just installed this after doing an uninstall of my Audigy 1 and drive clean, and it still says Audigy 1 in AUdio Console.

What driver version shoudl device manager be showing for this as well?

I guest that updates only audigy 2 to audigy 4 then I don't know if work for audigy 1 users. Did it said Pax WDM? when you installed the drivers? Let me know how it sound to me I have mine on 4% volume line in at 100% hehe and sounds great very loud driver

I think it only works for audigy 2 ZS or what ever, sense audigy 4 are just rebadged audigy 2 ZS.

It looks like these drivers are not based on 2.08.0004.
All file dates are August 2005 and Driver 2.08.0004 should be
December 2005. They also show Ver 5.12.10.1162 which are drivers
2.08.0002beta.

Yes, the youpax warning came up when I installed. Volume is the same. As prior drivers. I guess other than the softmod to Audigy 4, there is nothing different about this then the ones available from Creative for the Audigy 1 itself.

Yeah, what I don't understand is that the 2.08.0004 drivers are exactly the same for audigy 2 zs and 4 on the creative website, so how can you get increased sound quality, when your basically using the same driver?

Maybe there is only YouPax 'logo' added [img]images/smilies/big%20grin.gif[/img] into installer or this driverinstallation is just a needed part of the Audigy 4 suite installation. Actually, the product/driver version numbers are 2.08.00.0002/5.12.1.1162 (ctaud2k.sys) in this installation package.
Also, you can use same A2Zs drivers w/ most PCI, other than X-Fi and older Live models (even w/ E-MU PCI cards). Partly these drivers works w/ X-Fi's w/o need to do any modifications (I didn't get the X-Fi ASIO driver to work on my A2 system (perhaps some differences on I/O's)).

I don't think it be possible because classic leon did the hack driver

from that set. I just release the driver thats all and tested it

Sorry are you saying that even though you are installing the same driver package, the driver versions are different, hence being different for audigy 4?

Here is one test: If your card is not A2Value, A2Zs, or Audigy 4, can you show how's things
w/ ASIO --> DL ASIOCaps, run it and --> show (link a picture) which drivers are listed and
if 24/96 is showing up there, show (link a picture) the results from Caps test.

My Audigy 2 ZS is shown as Audigy 4. ASIO works at 48000 and 24/96 96000.

Allright it means that this driver are regular creative driver for all this Audigy cards!, cuz indeed i have in my device manager showing the same driver version but shown as regular audigy 2 not as PAX A4 the only difference i noted is that the date of the driver for me is a litle off that the one that our friend provieded for the picture, i also browsed the directory of this driver and fou a disclaimer of creative stating that this driver is a beta, and found nothing about PAX an icon or something, so it would be nice if someone can tell us if the download link is wrong or in fact is just the most uptodate beta from creative.....

same...no PAX driver for me either. I downloaded from both locations, tried manual installation, tried .exe, no love.
