Need help installing APSLive! 1.84 drivers

I have Win98SE, Live! 4.1 (CT-4830), but the APSLive! driver won't work. I uninstalled the Creative drivers, and even used Driver Cleaner Pro to completely remove them. I installed the APSLive drivers manually (this is the only way to go as the installer just installs the software, and extracts the driver files). Windows detects everything fine, as "EMU10k1 Audio processor" and says "Device is working properly" but in Control Panel-->Multimedia-->Audio-->Playback, "APS Wave Out" is grayed out, and so is "APS Wave in" under Recording.

Naturallly, i get NO audio output at all, and MIDI won't work either, also, there is NO Windows mixer available. Moreover, i did a clean re-install of Win98SE (by deleting C:\windows folder first) but this did absolutely NOTHING. I still have the exact same problems as above. The homepage for these drivers have zilch documentation, not to mention the drivers themselves come with NO help whatsoever to setup the driver. Is there anything else i can do?

Check if you have SFMAN32.dll in the windows\system directory.

MOVE it to another location (for backup)

It should work.
