Not played UT2K4 for ages now, don't even have it installed anymore, and when I did I didn't play it much tbh. Not really my kind of shooter, always ended up playing BF, BF:V or FC, now BF2.
But as i have an X-Fi, I am tempted to reinstall to try this patch out. Those of you who have tried it, is it worth a look (listen)? thanks. |

To me it was, but i cant really tell you if you will like it or not. you have to try it for your self.
But diffent settings for it can be turned off if you dont like the music thats plays or the muiti channel sounds and music.

They had to redo them because they was goonna come out sooner, but the last UT2k4 patch came out so they had to rework it to work with the patch. Thats why they took longer.
Because before they was almost done.

I wonder if this patch works on the softmodded Audigy 2. Even though I got YouPax's X-FI hacked drivers, I don't think the card supports 128 voices and that "spiffy" EAX 5.0. So I wonder if it will make any difference on the Audigy.

It doenst work on the audigy2 normal i tried it with my other computer. It might work with the modded drivers but might not be that well. since it dont support EAX5 and 128 voices.

It's nice, but I was hoping to hear something more than just 5.1 shooting effects and this so called "dynamic music" which addition is that it's playing in rear channels.
Not bad anyway, but... could be better. Anyway - Old Operation Flashpoint sounds better with CMSS 3D Headphone than UT2k4 with this patch. |

If Found that it works better with 5.1 speakers then it does headphones in cms 3d, that what it sounds like to me.

its odd because I used my headphones more with CMS 3D. I would have to force my self to use my 5.1 setup for a while in games because of CMS 3d headphone.

It depends of headphones you are using, 5.1 system as alternative, a game itself and a background noise.
What can I say is - more fun is with big power comming from real speakers in quiet environment (but they have to be well configured, I mean - good angles in 5.1 setup) while playing games with some crazy battles. However some game engines sound awesome on CMSS Headphone. I found that Operation Flashpoint works great with this combination and I really enjoy playing it with CMSS HPH or eventualy on my 6.1 system with stereo xpand switched all the way to rear and permanently on (so all front sounds have additional reverb to rear). Anyway keep in mind that I'm playing with poor and small Sennheiser headphones (MX300). |

I've been albe to hack ut2004.ini file to work with xfi patch and Audigy1 (@3.33 YouPAX drivers).
Just applay the following settings (you need to choice if you want to have music accents or not [I don't like them]): Code:
Channels=24 (...) MusicVoiceCount=15 MaxAudioVoices=60 MusicAccents=False Code:
Channels=24 (...) MusicVoiceCount=10 MaxAudioVoices=60 MusicAccents=True Enjoy! |

And we have a great X-Fi only tech patch that is applicable on 10kx boards too.
How nice. |

And it not worth trying to edit that , i rather just put a XFI in the other computer to truly get it then editing to get some of it.
