MP3 player help! :O (its audio aint it?)
Please move to a more suitable location if there is.
![]() Right. I own a Creative Zen Touch MP3 player. Its all working fine and so forth. I'm just wondering if there is anyway that I can play the music that is on my MP3 player through my computer. As if it were an external hard drive. There is the option of moving all my music files to the data folder of the MP3 player. But then the Music files wont play when I use it as a MP3 with headphones etc. I presumed that there must be someway, as its connected to the computer with USB 2.0, and there are HI-FI's out now which have USB ports to directly connect your MP3 to play music off. Is there some progam i need? The NOMAD explorer I have only allows me to move the files around the MP3 but not to actually play them. Its rather frustrating. any ideas? ::UPDATE:: JBHTTP - This program puts all your songs onto a local server or somthing.. Basically it allows you to download them as .m3u's then play them. Its not exactly what I wanted to be honest. But it works for the mean while. If anyone else has another solution please post!

not having a Creative myself this is just guess work, but won't it sync with WMP and let you play them through that way?
WMP11 has a 'Sync' button, works with all my mp3 players bar my ipod. |

No idea tbh as I don't have a Creative but does it not just show up as a drive with it's own drive letter that you can just browse? I'm guessing not as you wouldn't be posting.
Give MediaMonkey a go, no idea if it'll do what you want but it's a great bit of s/w, has loads of plugins for various devices and has sorted lots of problems for other people when I've recommended it. |

Apple Fanboy?

RattyCakes: go to the creative website and download the latest firmware, there are two options
one to keep it the same way as it is, and the second is to identify the device as a portable media player, which will allow you to do what you wish

how's the player's headphone jack? if you can unplug, you could just take an audio cable from the headphones of the player to the computer's line-in.....
& it doesnt act as an external drive?? if it did/does, i'd just open up the files in winamp http://www.rockbox.org/ too bad this isnt for the zen i dont think |
