Logitech Z-680
I am seeking some advise or opinion or whatever. I am out to get a new speaker set of my PC nowadays.
What's phase plug? Does it help to produce more crisp and clear sound or does it just helps to please more of bassheadds out there? Because if it's latter I am not buying it. I noticed from Z-560 days that peopel are just blinded easily by the overpowering bass sounds of Z-560 and go 'WOW'. They don't seems to care much about clearness or detail level of the sound once they got the feel of the enormous thump on hte floor. I almost never read a review of Z-560 praising crispness of the sound it produces. They just go on and on about the bass sound. You know windows rattle, complaints from neighbors, going deaf kind of talk. Well, I admit it's a nice feeling with the heavy thumpings. However, it cannot represent the performance of a speaker set and the joy of rich detailed sound in all levels. My question is that whether this speaker(Z-680) produce detailed crisp sound in all ranges(highs mid-range, bass) or is this speaker set just a Z-560 with center speaker, more thumping power(zzzzZZZZZ~~) and a fancy decorder panel. The sattelites look a lot like those in Z-560 set which produce pathetic sound in terms of clearness and detail level. I once played them(Z-560) without the bass and compared them with my 2 stereo speaker set(piece of junk that came with my old Celeron machine 4 years ago. I bet they costed like 10 bucks). I will pick my piece of junk anyday. Again, does the phase plug help the clarity of the sound or not? ![]() Currently, I am considering Monsoon MH-505. Z-560 is another candidate. Well, if my wife approves...heck. ![]() Anybody? Thanks |
