best soundcard for recording music?

I want to ask, which sound card may be the best one for recording music, like plugging i.e. guitar and recording. I was thinking about Creative Xfi, īcause I dont want to pay very much money for it.
Iīm deciding between Platinum and Fidelity and I dont know, what is the difference between them; and when there is a difference, if it may influence music recording stuff.
Thanks for your replies

Elite Pro is the only X-Fi model w/ Hi-Z input which is least needed to get guitar directly connected to the audio device. W/ those X-Fi models you listed, you need external pre-amplifier like DI-Box, Mixer, POD, etc. starting from around 35US$.

Differences between those two X-Fi models you mentioned --> amount of X-RAM.
