??? Problem with X-Fi, Crystalizer and SPDIF

Hi

My "old" Soundcard was an Audigy 2 and today my new x-fi platinum arrived.
I choose "Full Install" on setup.
I used my Audigy 2 with SPDIF Coaxial Digital Output.

Now the same with the X-Fi ... it works but I hear no difference between 0% Crystalizer an 100% Crystalizer with MP3's.

When I test the speakers, the rear speakers are not detected...the test sound for the rear sound comes of the left and right front speakers.

Is there a Problem because I hear no difference if the crystalizer is on or off?
Maybe the crystalizer don't work with SPDIF Digital Output?

can anybody help please?

sorry for my bad englisch, i hope i could explain my problem

The SPDIF signal can only pass 2 channel audio signal from the soundcard unless is encoded digitally. None of creative cards can encode sound to dolby digital or DTS so you have to deal with lame ass stereo sound. I suggest you stop using coaxial and switch to 6 channel direct input. Then you should hear a difference.

Your digital connection will only give 5.1 sound if your source is 5.1. Usually DVD movie has 5.1 because the stream is compressed to AC3. The Z-680 decodes the signal and send the appropiate sound to each speakers. PC audio is usually only stereo unless you have a software AC3 encoder like AC3filter. Then you can get 5.1 sound from stereo source through your digital connection
